Still Reeling

'Hellboy II: The Golden Army' (PG-13)

Starring: Ron Perlman, Selma Blair

Did you see the first film? If you liked that one, you'll probably be pleased with the sequel as Hellboy must save the world from rebellious creatures. Opens Friday.

'Meet Dave' (PG-13)

Starring: Eddie Murphy, Elisabeth Banks

Aliens, a whole crew of them, living in Eddie Murphy's head? Reminds me of the "Mind Head" group from 'Bowfinger'. Opens Friday.

'Journey To the Center of the Earth' (PG)

Starring: Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutcherson

Discovering a vast, dangerous lost world in the center of the earth has never been quite this much fun, or has it? Opens Friday.

'Hancock' (PG-13)

Starring: Will Smith, Jason Bateman

When PR veteran Ray (Bateman) gets a hold of superhero Hancock (Smith) it's time for an image makeover.

'Wall-E' (G)

Starring: voice of Ben Burtt, Fred Willard

Amazing animation from the folks at Pixar, but we have come to expect that from them. A true love story that will have kids and adults loving their time at the movies.

'Wanted' (R)

Starring: James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie

Sleek and stylish take on a man who goes from just living, to a fraternity of assassins. Bloody good action fun.

'Get Smart' (PG-13)

Starring: Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway

Maxwell Smart (Carell) gets a big screen look. This one "missed it by that much" with the laughs. Lots of chuckles, very few belly laughs.

'The Love Guru' (PG-13)

Starring: Mike Myers, Jessica Alba

Controversy has been swirling around this for awhile now on the portrayal of Hinduism. Mike Myers returns and I’m sure there are laughs, at least some.

'The Incredible Hulk' (PG-13)

Starring: Edward Norton, Liv Tyler

A Hulk Smash of a good time, this is an action film that while not deep, will leave you satisfied. This is lean, green and great onscreen.

'The Happening' (R)

Starring: Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel

Something is happening. The signs are all there. Director M. Night Shyamalan is back to creep us out with tales that are unexplained.

'You Don’t Mess With The Zohan' (PG-13)

Starring: Adam Sandler, John Turturro

An Israeli commando fakes his death moves to New York to become a hair stylist. Adam Sandler is the commando, and he usually can put a smile on my face.

'Kung Fu Panda' (R)

Starring: Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman

Perfect for the 8-13 year old boys, Po is a lazy slacker Panda who becomes the new savior of the Kung Fu community, Jack Black will have you laughing.

'Sex and the City' (R)

Starring: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall

As a newcomer to this series, I didn’t totally get it, but the women in the theater with me loved another visit with these old friends.

'The Strangers' (R)

Starring: Liv Tyler, Scott Speedman

Starts REALLY slow, then gets a bit better. I had at least some goose bumps on my arms before this one ended and I won’t be opening the door at 4 a.m..

'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' (PG-13)

Starring: Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf

Remember how you looked at movies when you saw the original three. If you do, this will be enjoyable. Love to see Harrison back in the saddle.

'The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian' (PG)

Starring: Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley

The next in the C.S. Lewis series of popular children’s books takes a decidedly darker tone. The imagery stands out and the film has an incredible look and feel.

'Iron Man' (PG-13)

Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard

The perfect start to a summer at the movies, funny and action-packed this will get your blood pumping. Robert Downey Jr. is the perfect person to play Tony Stark.
